Family Day

Wednesday, to celebrate the end of school (forever, for this degree) Jake took his very first personal day. (I’ve never had a salaried job before. So you mean to tell me I get a certain number of days where I just don’t come, and you give me money as though I did come? Where do I sign up?) It was a great chance to get some things done around the house, take care of things I haven’t had time to take care of for 3 months, and most of all, hang out as a family.

Sam is starting to get into a groove, so we can to some extent make plans for how to spend certain blocks of time. That’s pretty big. He usually eats at about 9 or 10 PM, and then again at 12 or 1. We learned a very important lesson Tuesday night: We have to go to bed after the 9PM show, or things get pretty rough.

Wide-awake baby and bleary, incoherent dad. Don’t let this happen to you.

Made in the shade. Eat your heart out, Jimmy Buffett.

Pretty good for one-handed and only using materials available downstairs.

Mom tried a new position in the bath today. He really doesn’t freak out much; once he gets used to it it will probably be one of his favorite things.

Notice anything missing in the belly region? Another historic milestone.

  1. First of all, thank you for covering the tushy in the bathtub, I don’t think I could have handled that kind of cuteness, and second of all…Sam is getting cuter and cuter by the posting!-Carrie

  2. I love your good blog! It’s entertaining! That Sam is absolutely adorable. Jackson now points to Sam on my laptop! They’ll be fast friends…Love from the Lords!

  3. Ok, I have lots of nice things to say and one concern- why is Melissa bathing Sam on the STOVE? Yikes.

  4. So this is a response to many posts, since y’all are blogging fiends… how did Sam get his scar? Congrats on the graduation. And Sam is a good looking boy! Miss you guys.
