Moving Day

We moved out of our Charlotte apartment on Jan 13. For international moves, it’s recommended to have your stuff not just moved, but packed by the professionals. As in, you don’t put your stuff in boxes, the pros do. I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to move any other way again.

The “big big box,” as we call it for Sam purposes.

These guys took much better care of our stuff than I would have. Every piece of furniture, down to every dining room chair, was wrapped in paper and taped. It’s pretty damage-proof. Unless the crate catches on fire. Hmm.

Sam’s love language is frequent explanation and repetition, so here we’re taking a minute to remind him what’s going on.

Out front was the wrap-and-box station.

In the video below, you can see how much truck was left at the end of packing.

A last shot of the neighborhood. We loved living here. Leaving Plaza Midwood was one of the hardest parts about leaving Charlotte. We’re grateful for lots of fun memories here.

  1. Wow that truck is huge, you should have driven your car in there and brought it with you. I can't imagine packing and having that much space left over. I hope you guys went out to Walmart and just bought lots of American "junk" to throw in there. Can't wait to hear how you guys are doing. We are praying for you.
